Today I went to visit ski base preparation guru, Wayne Johansson. We stone ground the bases of our Fischer Country Skis and the plastic runners of our sleds. We prepared them for cold, dry snow with a grind of 45 lines per centimetre. Wayne will "hot box" them to to "soak in the glide wax, then prepare them with a final coat super cold glide wax. I will use green klister, base wax and VR30 wax for grip. I am sure no expedition to Antarctic has EVER had skis and sleds prepared like this!
