Cool Gear - Part 1

Having the latest and greatest equipment has been part of every polar expedition all the way back to Franklin (yes, he was testing 20 hp steam-powered engines that each weighed 24 tonnes!) and before. We are no exception. The coolest piece of gear we have are Recon Goggles. These goggles have a built-in GPS display that will give us speed, temperature, latitude and longitude. This will be a huge advantage while kite-skiing and navigating in bad light. No need to look down at the compass or to get out a hand held GPS. The battery can be recharged from one of our mini solar panels.
