The Polar Centre in Alcove, Quebec, is the perfect place to re-group and prepare for your expedition before heading north. If you are traveling from a warmer of summer climate, this should be your first stop for cold acclimatization. We are located one hour from the Ottawa International Airport.

We have a complete workshop to prepare and customize equipment at the Polar Centre, including hiking and ski trails, and the Gatineau river for testing dry suits. There is a commercial kitchen for food preparation and capabilities to dehydrate and vacuum-seal rations. The centre also provides office and sleeping facilities, a weight room and a sauna. We freight forward your gear and supplies to Resolute or other parts of the Arctic.

We offer daily rates with or without instruction and / or consulting.
